Appelglobal has together with Elplatek AS and F.L Schmidt obtained a grant from Danish Ministry of Environment on reducing the mercury content in a highly polluted river on Mindanao, Philippines.

It is a two year project.

It is planned to establish a processing plant at the river.
Prior to action a impact assessment will be carried out. The recovered mercury will be stored in containers recommended by UNEP.

When Philippines have signed the Minamata convention the containers can be shipped to a storage place recommended by UNEP. The value is 1 mio US$.
